    The East Hardin Middle School Bands are comprised of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  Each grade is split into two classes, separated by brass and woodwind instrumentation. Please check back here each week, as I will try to update this page each Monday.

    NEW! You can now check your student's band grade from your smart phone. Infinite campus now has a APP that you can install on your phone for free. The app is called "Infinite Campus Mobile Portal".

    Welcome!

    Welcome to East Hardin Middle School! I am looking forward to a great year with the 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands.

    All important information regarding our band programs is included in our band guides. You will find links to our 2013-2014 band guides below. 6th Grade students need to click on the "EHMS Beginning Band Guide", all other students click on the "EHMS 7th and 8th Grade Band Guide".

    If your child is participating in Solo & Ensemble Festival you can find more information about their performance time and after school lesson times in the files below.

  • East Hardin Middle School presents "A Night With The Arts"

    The EHMS 6th & 7th grade bands will be presenting their final performances of the year on Tuesday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the EHMS gymnasium.  These performances will be preceded by a student art show and several chamber ensemble performances prior to to the concert.

    Each band will have one after school rehearsal to prepare for this performance.

  • EHMS Bands are DISTINGUISHED!

    Congratulations to the EHMS 7th and 8th grade bands for another successful year at the Kentucky Music Educators Large Ensemble Assessment in March 2014.

    • The 7th Grade Band received an overall Distinguished Rating.
    • The 8th Grade Band received unanimous Distinguished Ratings. 

     Our students represented EHMS at the highest level with their musicality and professionalism. 

    I am very proud of our students.  Congratulations to our students on this outstanding Achievement!

    • 26 Students Selected to KMEA All-District Band!

      On Saturday, January 11 EHMS Band students auditioned for the 4th District All-District Band.  Only one other school had more students selected to the All-District Bands, with EHMS students receiving 26 seats in the bands.

      • Practice Reports

        Practice Records are due every Friday. Students may turn them in late on Monday with no penalty.  I will NOT accept late practice journals after Monday, unless the student was absent from school. 

        I have linked a copy of the practice journal below if you need to print one from home.

        Students wishing to obtain extra credit can practice more than the required 80 minutes each week on their practice report.

        • EHMS Band Mobile Phone Texting Service

          The EHMS Band uses the REMIND101 texting service as yet another means of communication with parents.  Mr. Baucum will be using this service to remind students and parents of important deadlines, upcoming rehearsals and important reminders regarding performances.This will be a great tool to help keep you informed about the EHMS Band program!

          Students and parents sign up for this service directly from your mobile phone. Mr. Baucum will not be able to see your phone number and you will only receive important messages regarding the EHMS Band.

          To Join the EHMS Band Texting Service:

          Send a text to 925-304-4219 with the appropriate message below:

          You must send 1 text for each group you want to join (parents with children in more than one grade may want to join two groups).
