    What is the Youth Services Center?

    The Kentucky Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC) was created as a direct provision of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) of 1990.  The purpose of the Center is to enhance students' abilities to succeed in school by assisting students and their families in meeting their needs.  The YSC provides services to students and families as well as linking them to school and community organizations.

    To enhance students’ ability to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote:

    • Early learning and successful transition to school;
    • Academic achievement and well-being; and
    • Graduation and transition into adult life.

    FRYSC Vision

    The Kentucky Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services shall establish the national standard of excellence in the provision of school-based family support.

      Where is the Youth Services Center Located?
       
      The East Hardin Youth Services Center is located in Room 501 of the Tech Ed Building. 
       
      Hours of the Youth Services Center:
      Monday through Friday
      8:30 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
      Evening hours are available by appointment only.
       
      Services Offered:
       
      The Youth Services Center offers many different services, some of which are listed below:
      • Assistance with basic needs such as clothing, hygiene items and school supplies
      • Emergency assistance supplies
      • Link families to community resources/agencies
      • Referrals for holiday assistance
      • Referrals for health services
      • Family crisis and mental health services or referrals to mental health services
      • On-site counseling services

      Who Can Use the Youth Services Center?

      The Youth Services Center is available to all students and families of East Hardin Middle School regardless of family income. Services will be especially beneficial for those adolescents who are at risk of not performing well in school.
