What is the Youth Services Center?
The Kentucky Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC) was created as a direct provision of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) of 1990. The purpose of the Center is to enhance students' abilities to succeed in school by assisting students and their families in meeting their needs. The YSC provides services to students and families as well as linking them to school and community organizations.
FRYSC Mission Statement
To enhance students’ ability to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote:
- Early learning and successful transition to school;
- Academic achievement and well-being; and
- Graduation and transition into adult life.
The Kentucky Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services shall establish the national standard of excellence in the provision of school-based family support.
