Hello! My name is Amber Cummings and I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with your child this year! You may have noticed that my name has changed because over fall break I married my best friend, Adam.

I currently hold my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Campbellsville University and Masters degree in Elementary Education: Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of the Cumberlands.

As I enter into my third year of teaching, I look forward to working with you to help your child succeed to his or her highest potential. I set high expectations for my students and I believe that together we will lead your child down the path of success. If you ever have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at amber.wimsatt@hardin.kyschools.us.

        Homework

Homework will be sent home each Monday and is due each Friday. It will be found in the folder at the back of their binder.

*Reading Log/Comprehension Activity- Each night, your child is to read for 20 minutes. Please write the title of the book and initial that your child has read on their reading log. At the bottom of the log is a comprehension activity that your child is to complete about one of the books that they read throughout the week.

*Spelling- I only require one spelling assignment to be completed each week. I will place a check in the box of the assignment that is to be completed. Even though only one assignment is required, please help your child practice their spelling words every day. Spelling pretests will be given on Thursday. If your child spells all words correctly, they will not have to take the Friday test. If your child misspells words, they will take the whole test again on Friday.

*Math- A math page will be sent home each week. It will be a review of previously taught skills on your child’s level.
